Stock wheels on the Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T were 16x6.5 alloys with Goodyear Eagle RSA 205-55-16 tires. Traction not too good and car fishtails easily, not helped by the soft stock suspension. Enter the new Konig Villain 17x8 (40mm offset) wheels wearing Bridgestone Potenza RE730 225-45-17 tires. I really wanted the SSR Integrals but could not justify the cost. There is a tight clearance with the suspension at the rear wheels so I was wary of trying a 235 or 245 size (which might have worked too). BTW this is a good site to "do your homework" before buying wheels. Some wheels can look pretty but be quite heavy and will make you LOSE acceleration. wheelspecs.com. |

| The last one is what it looks like when you hook the wheel lip to the curb at 45 mph. The tire has not been touched but the alloy wheel is unusable. Spare donut did not fit over the upgraded brakes so I had to swap one of the rear tires (which is generally a good idea except at 3am in a dimly lit Hollywood parking lot). |
